Meraki Systems Manager App Reviews

Constant GPS Usage?!?

Still draining battery like it’s going out of style. This could be a great little frontend to a great service! Unfortunately it is marred by the same design flaw that has caused the same problems for the big boys in MDM, which is that the programmers havent figured out that GPS doesnt need to be on 24/7. Polling every 15 minutes or longer, or even having an administrator-defined poll period, would be much better.

iOS7 Issues

After loading iOS7 the App does not find the previous enrollment and even after reoloading the profiles on the device the App continues to say it is Waiting for MDM Enrollment to complete and never ends. This is a big deal since we have Meraki on over 1000 devices in our School District.

Question

Does it report the Internet usage, the sites visited, if so where?

Fantastic

There have been a lot of improvements made on battery life and efficiency for this app. Im definitely a fan. Works great on iOS 7.

Umm

I dont really know what this does. My school made me get it. So. Yeah

Best MDM

Dont waste your time with other platforms. This is simply the best.

Two big problems

If you use managed apps in meraki and you already have a meraki profile pushed to the iPad, you can open this up and it will automatically find the profile. But if push this app via VPP, which I do so I don’t have to touch 200+ iPads to enter an iTunes username/password, it will not find the profile. Also it keeps locations services on at all time. I would make it check every 30mins to an hour to save battery life.

No good

Location services always running on the phone

Location services

Location services On all the time. =(

Location services

App says that location services need to be enabled even though they are

Not functioning

The app installs ok, but when trying to connect to the service an error occurs. There is some issue with this app.

Battery killer

Users I have deployed this to use iPhone 5s devices with 100% mophie juice packs. They can no longer make it through a work day without charging their phones. This compared to them being able to go at least two days without having to plug in before.

Perfect for forgetful students!

The best part about this app, to me, is the ability for a student to see a list of apps that have been assigned to them and they can re-download them. Before this app, you would need to use the Meraki Dashboard to resend an app to a student who cancelled the initial Install prompt. Also, this makes Enrolling in our MDM a snap!

Battery killer

My school required me to download this app. We are also required to have a fully charged iPad for each day of class and we are penalized if the battery dies. This app kills the battery so before the end of the day its already dead. This app needs many improvements including the option to include accept or decline certain things that it can do. Need much improvement. The review below this one was quite hilarious though

Reasons not to get it

My school required us to get this for our iPads and they can basically see everything on our iPad not let us get apps download apps delete apps and show exactly where we are so if your school makes you get it dont!!!!

Its crap

The school makes it so they can see everything you do and its really creepy. (For school users only)

Be Careful

Dont be mistaken; Meraki MDM is a MOBILE DEVICE MANAGEMENT software. Meaning, that if you install the application and are enrolled by someone, you are generally signing your device off to said person. All devices operating Meraki are able to be managed remotely. All of your data is automatically encrypted to the main base (or where the devices are being controlled from, I.e. A Desktop Computer running as an administrator). Aside from that, Meraki allows for easy device management, but is difficult to download if you plan to MANAGE devices yourself.

Great app! Very easy to understand and use!

GPS kills battery

Still destroys battery with GPS 24/7 tracking. . We use this for tracking our company phones so the GPS stays on. It destroys the battery. Why cant it do a ping of where the user is at once asked not using the GPS 24:7?? This is the only missing part.

Excellent

If you know how to use this, its a great tool for MDM.
