App

Could you please tell me if this app can track everything what i do in my iphone? Like see my apps, pictures, conversations on whatsapp

Sad, useless program

Would love an iOS app called "Meraki Systems Manager" that actually does what Meraki System Manager does. This app just deploys the agent, nothing else. Honestly, I was excited until I opened the app the first time and realized it essentially didnt do anything helpful. Meraki, please improve this. Please make a real Systems Manager app.

Its a start I guess

To bad an app is needed to get correct location data but I wish it worked a little better. On both devices I tested it on it keeps accessing location services for 40-60 minutes at a time. Ive had to reinstall once because it wouldnt stop accessing location services. My poor battery. Update: had to delete from my iPad as it will never stop accessing location data As the other reviewer said change the name! And make a real manager app. This app does location and deployment it is not a management app!

Closes/ crashes right away

Tried on multiple 5S iPhones. App was able to connect and get policies. Subsequent execution app opens then closes. Backup could not see any files, maybe because it wasnt able to run long enough

Good app

Nice app for managed iPad!! I use this app for 500 ipads and meraki save Time for install or setup

This is illegal

And annoying when someone take control of your iPad

Great MDM Solution

Cisco Meraki Systems Manager is a great MDM/EMM solution. I like that they are constantly evolving the SM product/service and integrate it well into their MX, MS and MR families of cloud controlled network equipment.

MDM is Great

I am not sure if I am using the dashboard to its fullest extent but have questions that I cant seem to find answers to. My main concern from the device itself and with restrictions enabled the end user can still go into Settings/General/Device Management and remove Meraki Management from the device. It wont uninstall it and I will receive an email informing me that the profile has been removed. I just feel like it shouldnt allow it to even happen. Im probably just not understanding this as it is all still new to me and Im trying to figure it out as we go. Ive loaded 17 devices which is about half. I just need someone with more knowledge to help me out a little bit. Otherwise, its been working pretty good. Sometimes I find the location is wrong by a few states. Im in Columbus, Oh and sometimes it shows devices in Youngstown, Oh or in Chicago, Ill. Which I can guarantee they arent there when I have them here. From the dashboard I click on Refresh Location but it never seems to do anything.

Its annoying

My school computer guy uses this to monitor their iPads and their computers

Needs minor improvements

Apps tab needs to be searchable and needs option to reinstall/update app

Enrollment certs invalid

Worked before now when enrolling it fails out on iOS 10.0.2

Great and Simple!

So far no bugs or issues. It has a simple GUI and clean look. I love that with the app you can now pinpoint the location of the device using GPS (not IP location like Desktop clients show up on the web interface). Could use more features though. Most importantly a passcode option so nobody can erase the profile from the app. I see great potential! Keep it up the great and free service! Its amazing and a lifesaver for non-profit networks!

A start...

Well... Its a start. Ill say that I am slowly becoming a REAL FAN of meraki, but I wish there was an iOS app to MANAGE system manager networks. This app is for iOS devices MANAGED by system manager. That said, GPS location and direct push messages to your managed devices is pretty cool, but unfortunately I cant use it. BECAUSE: it has a fatal flaw. It leaves location services on all the time. This will KILL your device battery, and is not worth unleashing on poor unsuspecting users. This app MUST come up with a reasonable poking frequency that it uses to monitor location. Default checking once every hour might be ok. With the option for admins to change it via the system manager policy. Until this is implemented, you would be crazy to push this to your users, since location services - always on - is the default behavior. Hope this gets fixed.

Not impressed.

I installed this app earlier today. Later I noticed that my location services icon was always on. I wondered whether it was related to Meraki. I went into Privacy --> Location Services and lo and behold meraki was the culprit. I quickly uninstalled the app. This app doesnt give me anything I didnt already have from the web interface. To echo other reviewers I need a way to review managed devices not just verify the profile.

Has potential

I really like the System Manager as an MDM and was happy to hear about the app to help with location services. What I hope for in future releases is removing the ability for the user to turn off the location services. Also, I dont see a reason for location services to be active all the time; why not on demand when needed. Keep it up though!

Alert! Battery drainer!

I understand the constant polling of the app for GPS updates (thats the only reason to install the app and the only way for a dashboard user to accurately track a devices location) but couldnt it just retrieve GPS data when it is requested by the dashboard? Battery life will drop considerably if location services for this app are left on.

Well...

I was happy to see there is a app now but it is missing something important. There are other tracking apps that lock settings so the users cant change them. Also the location service looks to always be active.

GPS Polling Needs Work

As other reviewers have stated, if you turn on GPS tracking, the location services will always be on and it will destroy your battery life. If the app only did location polling when requested by the web interface or at specified intervals, it would be much more useful feature. As it stands, it is quite unusable because of the effects on battery life. Please fix the app as the systems manager is a great tool!

Love Meraki but app needs work

I love Meraki devices and their concept, however, this app needs work. Biggest issue, location services seems to be pulling constantly (rather than giving/pushing location only when requested) It drains battery life. I have to turn location services off which decreases major functionality of the app - knowing location of devices within our outside the network. When this is fixed, Ill be happy to give more stars!

Forced MDM is an app killer

I wanted to us this app to more easily manage my home Meraki network. Unfortunately, I cant use this app at all because the installation of a MDM (mobile device manager) profile on my iPhone is mandatory. However, I already have another MDM installed (required by my employer) and you can only have one installed on your phone. I dont want this app to manage my phone. I just want to use the app to manage my network.
